PATRICK BALL PRESENTS: ‘’THE FINE BEAUTY OF THE ISLAND”

March 4 @ 7:30 pm

The Fine Beauty of the Island is a solo theatrical performance of harp and storytelling at Greenlake United Methodist Church.

The last remaining inhabitants of the Blasket Islands in County Kerry, Ireland “vanished” in 1953, leaving behind them a deeply haunting tune floating on the winds.  the “Fine Beauty of the island” is the story of a journey I made some years ago in search of the origin and meaning of this strange, enchanting tune, a journey which led me back not only to a Blasket Island community and culture “ the likes of which will not be seen again”, but to a long neglected corner of my own past.

THIS IS ONE OF PATRICK’S BEST TALES, NEVER PERFORMED IN SEATTLE. NOT TO BE MISSED!
